Ultrasound

An ultrasound exam is a diagnostic procedure that uses high frequency sound waves to provide an image of the many internal structures of the body.

Since ultrasound uses sound waves, not x-rays, studies have shown that these sound waves are harmless and may be used with complete safety – even on pregnant women – where CT scans or x-rays may not be appropriate. Your physician will order the exam he feels will best diagnose your condition.
